Laundry is my eternal enemy. Which is really pretty sad since there are only 3 people in our household and half of Nic's clothes are work uniforms that are washed by the laundry service at work. Don't judge me.
I always have grand plans to do all of our laundry in one day, which is doable. I usually have 6 or so loads of laundry to do. It will take most of the day but if I actually finished the laundry in one day I would have a whole week without thinking about...laundry.
Typically it takes me 2-3 days to do laundry because I "forget" about the load in the washer. Or "forget" I have clothes in the dryer for 24 hours so then I have to run the dryer again to get all the wrinkles out and forget AGAIN. Its a vicious vicious cycle.
But the part that takes me the longest is putting away the clothes. I don't have an issue folding them, I either do it in the basement when I pull them out of the dryer or on the couch while I watch tv. The hurdle is actually putting the clothes away. Usually its another 2-3 days before I put them away. Most of the time the baskets make it upstairs to our bedroom but sometimes they never even make it out of the basement. Which means anytime Nic or I need something to wear we have to walk down two flights of stairs to find a pair of socks or a t-shirt. If the basket is in our room after a day or two it is completely messed up and more than likely there are a couple dirty items mixed in with the clean. Usually, (this is embarressing) by the time I actually put the clothes away its because I need the clothes baskets for another laundry day.
I'm not a perfect housekeeper at all (as you can tell by all the dirty backgrounds in my photos) but I like to think for the most part I keep a somewhat organized home without too much dirt, but just enough to keep us healthy, you know? But for some reason laundry is my biggest hurdle.
This week I did laundry in two days and with HERCULEAN effort I even put away the clothes I had folded the second day. Thats right, no baskets full of clothes sitting in our room or even in the basement. I don't have to think about laundry for another 5 days, except I think Remy needs a load washed....

Haaahaaaa! I feel the same way! I have no problem folding the clothes, but the boys' clothes end up sitting on top of the dryer for at least a day before I put them away and ours end up sitting in a basket in our room until they're all messed up. Sometimes I even skip the basket and put the clean clothes on our bed. Then, when we go to bed we just push them onto the floor instead of putting them away. Why? Because I'm lazy!
