Mother's Day and Coconut Clunking

My first Mother's Day was busy but I still milked it for all it was worth. As I told Nic when his friend Jesse called to see if Nic wanted to go fishing "Doesn't he know its Mother's Day? If you go fishing than who will be my man slave and wait on me hand and foot?". So maybe I have a slightly selfish view of Mother's Day....

Right away in the morning we went out to my Mom's and made her breakfast and then went to church with her. I brought the eggs, bacon and pineapple and Andrew brought juice. I had asked Eddy to pick up some muffins or donuts as his contribution and he showed up with muffins he had made himself along with flowers AND chocolate for Mom. Its tough being shown up by an 18 year old male.

We ate lunch and spent the afternoon with my in-laws. Remy decided he did not want to nap so by the time we took him home he was extremely tired and fell asleep in my arms while taking his night time bottle. It was such a nice Mothers Day gift since he rarely snuggles or falls asleep while I am holding him.

When my siblings and I were younger one of our favorite radio shows (we didn't have tv) was Jungle Jam. I can't remember if it played on Saturday or Sunday, but it was a funny show about jungle animals that always had a moral in each episode. One of our favorite episodes was about Coconut Clunking. Millard the Monkey discovered that if you hit your head with a coconut that after the initial pain there was pleasant buzzing sensation. Somewhat a jungle version about the dangers of drugs.
Today Remy was playing on the living room floor. We have hardwood floors so he likes to slide around and grab at things. One of his favorite things to do is to pull everything off the shelf under the coffee table and then try to drag the coffee table around. Today, while Remy was busy pulling everything off the shelf I was checking my email. He moved on to grabbing the coffee table leg and trying to pull it around. All of the sudden I heard a tapping sound. I peeked around my computer and there is Remy sitting with his hands and legs wrapped around the coffee table leg lightly banging his head, protected by his CranioCap, against the coffee table. Over and over and over again. I guess he is starting young with the Coconut Clunking.
