Nic worked in Lisbon, ND for a couple of days and his company paid for a hotel room for him so Remy and I went along. I was born in Lisbon and spent the first few years of my life in Milnor, ND which is where both of my parents were raised. All of my grandparents still live in Milnor so we got to spend some quality time with them.
This is Remy and I in front of the church in Lisbon that my family used to attend. Since we moved they had added on and I remember that being a big deal and that it added so much space. When I drove up I couldn't believe how teeny the church was even with the addition!! Its funny how things are so much bigger when you are younger.
My great aunt and uncle, Betty and Warren, stopped by my grandparents when I was visiting and Betty and Remy just loved eachother! I guess Remy wasn't sure what to think of Warren though.
Here he is with Grandpa Asche. They look like two of a kind don't they?
Remy really loves Grandma Ellefson, I think that she reminds him of his Grandma Asche, since they kind of look alike.
We had so much fun on our little overnight trip! Remy did really well although he did not eat or nap as much because there were too many new things to look at and everything was unfamiliar. I couldn't believe how nicely he sat with Betty since he usually does not like to sit on anyones lap for more than a minute or two. He hardly fussed at all except when we were at the hotel or in the car. He is evidently one of those people that can only poop at home though, he had one little dirty diaper the second day and I could tell he was not feeling that great. After we got home we put him in his excersaucer and that helped him get things going. He is definitely making up for it now!
Remy was pretty cranky when we got home last night, I think he just got really tired from not napping much but he had a really tough time sleeping last night. He took a 3 hour nap this morning and was much more chipper after that.
In other news...
We took Remy in for a check up with our doctor because he had been concerned about the shape of his head. He had gotten quite a bad flat spot and it still has not straightened out as much as it should have. After his doctor looked at him he said that we should take him to Gillette Children's Hospital in the cities just to make sure that everything is ok. So we have an appointment next Friday, the 17th, in Minnetonka. I am confidant that everything is fine but I am happy that we are having a specialist look at him now, otherwise I would probably spend the rest of my life wondering if we should have had him looked at.

Man, it's been a long time since I was in Lisbon. I bet that church does look pretty little. Thinking back I remember how there were so many people that everyone was cramed into the pews.
