My Little Trooper

I feel like I need to start this post with an apology - I still don't have a camera cord so I still have no pictures. I feel horrible that you can't see my wonderful little boy and his two teeth and the huge grin that he has started flashing (before it was just cute little smiles, but now - now! its huge). I know some people don't like blogs without pictures, which is funny because I read blogs mostly for the words and the pictures are just a bonus. But for those people, I'm sorry!

Now back to the blog.

So far Remy has only eaten cereal and carrots. After establishing that he is not allergic to carrots, which was the most recent addition to his diet, I decided to try peas. I haven't given him fruit yet because I want to make sure he learns to like his veggies first. So I set him in his Bumbo and put his little plastic bib on. His hands started flailing and he sat there leaning forward with his mouth open waiting for the first bite. And the first bite went great actually, he didn't fuss, he didn't even really make a funny face. So I kept feeding him. After a good 6-8 spoonfuls he started gagging. I would give him a bite, he would swallow it and then open his mouth and gag. The first time I just thought it was a fluke so I gave him another bit and another and by the fourth bite I realized that the gagging is not going to stop. The poor little guy. He didn't fuss or cry or anything, just kept eating what I fed him without complaint but he couldn't stop the gagging.
So I guess we'll let the peas wait a couple of months and try them again. I would maybe force him to eat them if he was just being a stinker and not wanting to eat, but if you could have seen my sweet little boy sitting in his little blue Bumbo, gagging and then ever so nicely letting me feed him more....
Maybe it is true that boys will eat anything.
